For the love of shadow

Hi again!
So I thought I'd do a post about my best and worst eyeshadows. I absolutely love eyeshadow! I definitely prefer a shimmer to a matte shadow though, I just think it adds a bit of sparkle to your eye. I tend to stick to neutral colours as I always wear lipstick so would not like to look like a man in drag! I always go for (and recommend) eyeshadow palettes - two colours or more I find so much easier, as you don't need to worry about if they'll go etc.

My top eyeshadow I've ever used (yes i mean ever) is Laura Geller's Baked Marble Eyeshadow in Vanilla Toffee/Black Cherry. Laura Geller is by far the best supplier for eyeshadows I've found. The colours are incredible! But also, when applying you don't need a lot because the colours are so prominent. I recommend Laura Geller to any eyeshadow-lover!

The top two colours are from my favourite-ever eyeshadow Baked Marble: Vanilla Toffee/Black Cherry. The bottom are from Baked Marble: Moonstone/Blue Heaven.
As previously stated, I am a neutral shimmer lover, and so the Vanilla Toffee is literally my perfect colour. I usually begin by putting Mac Studio Fix Concealer on my eye, or simply a base colour from Estee Lauder, and then put a few strokes of the Vanilla Toffee over. It really adds a glow glimmer to your eyes. Then I follow this with a crease of Black Cherry. The colours go great together and it's a perfect nighttime look!
The Moonstone/Blue Heaven are also gorgeous, though I've never used them (!) just because I don't usually opt for strong colours on my eyelids. But as previously stated, for anyone that likes their blues and pinks - Laura Geller is the place to go!

If you've been reading my blog, you'll know I also love my Sephora eyeshadow.

It's called Sunbaked No. 2  and gives you the three colours with numbers on the back for where to apply each. They're truly gorgeous colours and I definitely recommend this product. The one complaint I'd have is that I personally use number 2 (the gold in the middle) the most, and unfortunately you get the least of this colour!
Now for my worst eyeshadows! (Sorry they're in such a mess!) Most of you may not agree, and don't get me wrong I use a lot of Mac products - but their eyeshadows are atrocious! It's not necessarily the colours, although I have seen better versions of the colours I have bought, but it's how you have to put so much on to get the actual colour in the pot!

Unfortunately it doesn't say on the bottom of the packaging what colours the above pictures, or below pictures are (which is beyond annoying - imagine if I wanted to buy it again!), but if you recognise these colours I wouldn't recommend buying them.

I hope you've found this interesting/useful in some way! And please, if you have any great eyeshadows, or simply know a certain make which you think are really good for eyeshadows, feel free to share!

Beauty

I thought I'd do a general feature on a couple of my make-up staples. I will be doing another few posts comparing products, such as concealers, foundations, mascaras etc! But this is just to show what make-up products I use on a frequent basis.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (Currently I'm using a mixture between Bronze and Softan). Expensive at £26.50, but definitely worth it! I think foundation is crucial to get right - if you don't have a good foundation your skin never looks right and it throws your whole make-up off. It's one thing I don't mind splurging for!
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara. I have tried so many different expensive mascaras, and none of them beat this one! At only £6.99 it's definitely staying in my make-up bag! I've tried Mac mascaras, Clinique - nothing beats this! Dior Blackout Mascara does come close, but this is still better! (And under a quarter of the price)
Mac Studio Finish Concealer (I use NW25). By far the best concealer I have ever used! One downside:  For me if I haven't used it in a while (e.g.) on holiday, and when I first started using it, it made me break-out in spots wherever I put it! Then my skin gets used to it and calms itself down again.

Mac Bronzing Powder. The best bronzer hands down. Although I still need to try Nars bronzer as I've heard it's just as good. But I like this one because it gives you a natural glow, rather than the silly shimmer ones.
This is actually a new addition to my make-up palette. It's a Mac palette, with two rows of eyeshadows and then four different blushers. The eyeshadows I adore, and I always wear atleast one shade from this palette in the day and night. The blushers are also gorgeous and you can vary your colour depending on how 'pink' you wish to be!
The biggest highlighter I've ever used! This Laura Geller Baked Body Frosting is such a nice highlighter for night-time looks, although a bit much for daytime. And you get sooo much of it it last forever!

What's your staple products?

Top New Clothing Buys and Gifts

I thought I'd do a quick feature about my recent best buys! I'm thinking in terms of money and quality... Followed by my most expensive presents and new buys!

1. A gorgeous turquoise sheer shirt with and embroided collar
This was from Primark and I think it was around the £10 value. I wore it a lot in Thailand and it's gorgeous material and looks expensive on!

2. A sheer black shirt with gold button detailing and roll-up sleeves
Another great Primark holiday buy! £12 for this sheer black shirt which goes with everything! It's a great length too!

The next three buys are all around the same price (the top two were in the sale)  - all around £25. So I've put them in order of how much I love them! And also value for money again.

3. Red Suit Trousers with gold zip details
Best sale buy from ASOS! Reduced unbelievably, with an incredibly expensive-looking material, the gold zip detailing and a perfect fit - these were a great buy!

4. Purple cut-out bodycon dress
Again from ASOS sale! The colour goes so nicely with my Thailand tan! I'm a big fan of purple at the moment. Unfortunately in this dress you can't eat the whole day before wearing it!

5. Orange loose shirt with gold buttons
An H&M classic! Such a gorgeous summer colour -the only negative I'd give it is the length at the front cuts off just above your thighs so makes them seem a little bigger.

Now for my favourite splurged items:
The first, a black DKNY handbag from my mummy for my birthday!
The second, a purple Jimmy Choo! (A present from me to myself haha, with mummy's help!)
The third, a beautiful orange Linea bag from my auntie! Best summer handbag <3
(I can't rotate it because I'm silly with technology!) The perfect handbag for day and night: An absolute staple.
My first Jimmy Choo!

Has anyone else found any really good buys recently? Comment here if so!

Birthday Girl!

So as many of you know I have just recently turned 21!

I thought i'd include a few snaps of the celebrations  - ALL of the celebrations - that is a friends night out in London, a trip to Thailand with the Bf, and family 2 day celebrations!

So for the celebrations at Ministry of Sound I wore a TFNC Paris Sequin Dress in peach - I originally had planned the French Connection Sequin number but this TFNC dress was only £55 and looked so much nicer!
such a good night

Thailand!! Absolutely incredible place <3 Dodged the Tsunami warnings though!
For the meal I wore a white sequin embellished shift ASOS dress, teamed with purple carvela heels and a purple fiorelli clutch.

It's never a birthday without cupcakes!
